Alizarin Red Solution, 4 oz / 125 ml

Description

Used to differentiate calcite from dolomite. Cover chips with thin layer of water, add 2–3 drops, wait 3 minutes, rinse. Calcite turns deep pink/red-orange; dolomite stains faintly or not at all.
